Studies in the Psalms - Psalm 125

Sometimes in the middle of the storm, the best one can hope to do is to stay where you are. When the winds are blowing, all you can do is hold on. For Christians, there is a firm anchor to cling to. With Jesus, we cannot be moved.

Psalm 125:1
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

Jesus, like an eagle protecting its young with its wings, surrounds His flock and never leaves them. Even when we feel as if the enemy is on the perimeter about to consume us, Jesus is there.

Psalm 125:2
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.

Sometimes even those we think are our friends, are trying to entice us into sin. Everywhere we look is temptation. But through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, we can live free of the sins that seek to take hold.

Psalm 125:3
For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong.

Turn to Jesus and keep praying for Him to return. For in the day He returns, will come judgment to the evil doers.

Psalm 125:4-5
Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts!  But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the LORD will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel!

Do you want to stand firm in your faith? Trust in Christ.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
