THE PSALMS – A JOURNEY IN WORSHIP AND FAITH - November 21, 2014 - Day 100 - Psalm 100

In less than one week we will gather as families to celebrate what we in America call Thanksgiving Day. As Christians every day should be Thanksgiving Day. We should awaken and go right to God in a prayer of thanksgiving and praise. All day long we should recognize the many blessings we have and worship God by singing and praying to Him. We should get quiet before God as we prepare to sleep for the night and offer our praise for another day in which we were taken care of by Him. Psalm 100 is a psalm of thanksgiving and praise.

Psalm 100:1-2
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

God not only created us; He chose us before the foundations of the earth to be His. If you call Jesus Lord it is because the Father has given us to be in the flock of the Great Shepherd. That is enough to bring us joy.

Psalm 100:3
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Because of Jesus we have access to God the Father through Him. We don’t have to go to church or find a priest to be in His presence. We can simply come to Him in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Maybe today life has kicked you in the teeth. If depression or grief has you down open your Bible and hear from God. Get on your knees and offer Him worship and praise. Lift your hands and thank Him.

Psalm 100:5
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Amen.
