Monday
mornings can be difficult. Back to work, back to school, or even just back to
the daily grind of life brings new and unknown events in our lives. As
Christians, like Israel in their wanderings to the Promised Land, we have many
dangers, toils, and snares to face on our daily walk. Psalm 121 is a wonderful reminder
to us that we do not walk alone.
Psalm 121:1-2
I
lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes
from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
The
one who helps us get through the day is the one who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:3-4
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
We
hear the term 24/7 and the only one who really can watch over us 24/7, is God.
He is never asleep.
Psalm 121:5-6
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
Day
in and day out God is our keeper. When life feels like it is about to burn you,
then seek His shade.
Psalm 121:7-8
The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
No
matter what you may face this week, God will keep you. If you are a child of
God, if Jesus is your Lord, then you have a shepherd to keep you safe as you
make the journey. He keeps our going out
and our coming in, meaning the day to day things we face, not only today, but
for all eternity.
Where
will your help come from? My help comes from the Lord.
