I have a t-shirt from the Smoky Mountains that says “The
Journey Is the Destination.” Certainly my journey into the Book of Psalms was
each day, a destination of its own, but today marks the end of that journey.
Psalm 150 is an appropriate ending to this quest. It is a short compilation of
what the basic premise of the Psalms is; which is praise. For the Christian
praise it is not an option.
Psalm 150:1-6
Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

Unless you are dead you should be praising the Lord and if
you are Christ’s you will praise Him for all eternity. It doesn’t matter where
you are or what is going on, you should praise God. Why? How can you praise God
in the midst of tragedy? The answer lies in Romans 8:28
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” All things it says. If you believe that then you must praise God.

Thank you for reading these words I have shared over the
past 5 ½ months. I hope you have been as blessed by the Psalms as I have.
Praise God. Amen.
A special Praise to God for having blessed me with the
writings of Jon Courson, John Phillips, and Warren Wiersbe, all of whose commentaries
I used in this work.
